If you need to obtain a copy of a document filed in Deed Department first determine the type of copy you require. Georgia law determines the cost charged for copies, the Clerk of Court's office cannot waive these fees. We have a statutory obligation to collect fees for copies.

o   Regular Copies –

You may come in to our office or request the copy by mail.

If you come to our office, you can obtain copies by using our public search terminals or request assistance from the clerks in the office

  • Regular copies printed from the public search terminals are $.50 per page
  • Regular copies in which assistance is required are $1.00 per page

 If you would like to request a regular copy by mail, please include the following information:

  •  Names of parties referenced on the document
  • Title of document to be copied (Warranty Deed, Security Deed, Plat, etc.)
  • Type of copy (Regular or Certified)
  • Cost of copies (if you are unsure the exact number of pages, please contact the Clerk of Court's Office)
  • Regular--$ 1.00 per page by mail
  • We will also need a self-addressed stamped envelope for returning the copies
  • Money order or cash for payment of copies (we do not recommend sending cash through the mail)

 

o   Certified Copies –

A certified copy is a copy of a document signed and certified as a true copy by the officer of the court to whose custody the original is entrusted.

You may come in to our office or request the copy by mail.

If you come to our office, you can obtain copies by using our public search terminals or request assistance from the clerks in the office

  • Certified copies are $2.00 for the seal and $1.00 per page

 

If you would like to request a certified copy by mail, please include the following information:

  • Names of parties referenced on the document
  • Title of document to be copied (Warranty Deed, Security Deed, Plat, etc.)
  • Type of copy (Regular or Certified)
