Pretrial Diversion Program

Courthouse Pic

The Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit Pretrial Diversion Program was started in July, 2017, as an alternative to prosecuting offenders in the traditional manner through the criminal justice system. It is administered and supervised through the District Attorney.

The Pretrial Diversion Program is designed to meet the needs of the participants to deter future criminal conduct, minimize loss to the victims through payment of restitution; reduce the number of less serious cases in the court system; and to protect the community by closely supervising and monitoring participants through use of community resources appropriate for the participant and his or her case. During the program, each participant will pay restitution to any victims in his or her case, perform community service work, submit to random drug screens, and complete classes or counseling as determined by the Pretrial Diversion Program Coordinator.

Pretrial Diversion Program Documents

You are required to print the following documents and bring them to your scheduled orientation date:

The following documents are for each participant to review and keep for your records while participating in the Pretrial Diversion Program:

For more information, please consult the program participant handbook, or contact the Pretrial Diversion Coordinator, Sally Santander at 770-479-1488 or pretrialdiversion@cherokeega.com
