Education and Credentials

Judge Douds is a lawyer admitted to practice in the trial and appellate courts of Georgia (2001) and Maryland (1995), the United States Tax Court (1997), and the United States Supreme Court (2002).

He is also a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Georgia (2009) and Maryland (1988).

Law School:  The Catholic University of America Columbus School of law - J.D., 1995.

Undergraduate:  The University of Maryland at College Park, B.S. – Accounting, 1983.

 

Experience

Auditing, accounting, and tax, 1983 – 1997.

Trial practice, 1995 – 2008.

 

Volunteer Service

Douds serves as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate in the Georgia State Defense Force (GSDF), an all-volunteer military unit of the Georgia Department of Defense, authorized by federal and State law.  Major Douds was first commissioned as a Captain in 2014.  Douds presently leads a team of attorneys in support of the Georgia Army National Guard’s Legal Assistance Program, and participates in search and rescue, disaster relief, and humanitarian missions as needed.
