Future Development Map

Unlike previous land use maps, the Future Development Map relies heavily on the written Character Area Descriptions to define the types of land uses that are appropriate in different parts of the county.  The combination of Character Areas, Development Nodes and Corridors on the map illustrate the community vision for the future of Cherokee County.  The links below provide access to the Future Development Map in different formats.

Finding a Specific Parcel or Location

The GIS Online E-Service provides the best way to search the Future Development Map for a specific parcel of land.  This mapping tool also allows the user to look at the full range of up-to-date GIS layers, including tax parcels, zoning, and aerial photos.  It may be helpful to consult the Character Areas page for the description text for a better understanding of the vision for that area of Cherokee County.
