Outstanding Service Award Winners go back

To make Cherokee County the best place to be through efficient, effective and responsive government through quality service.

In this spirit, the mission statement of the Outstanding Service Council is to develop and foster programs which provide for enhanced Outstanding Service to residents of Cherokee county, agencies, and departments of Cherokee County Government and constitutional officers of Cherokee County. Enhanced Outstanding Service is to be promoted as a five-part program known as PRIDE:

Promote outstanding service beyond job descriptions of Cherokee County employees
Recognize employees that exemplify enhanced/outstanding customer service
Implement programs to enhance customer service
Develop training programs that enhance customer service skills and abilities
Encourage employees to strive for excellence in customer service at every available opportunity

Cherokee County Announces Outstanding Service Awards

Outstanding Service Award Recipient
Chris Ulm
Investigator - Solicitor General's Office

Chris Ulm is an outstanding and dedicated employee in the Office of the Solicitor General. Chris speaks with victims of crime and with law enforcement on a daily basis. He has worked on hundreds of cases involving victims of domestic violence. He consults with victims regarding their rights. He coordinates efforts with the Cherokee Family Violence Center in obtaining Temporary Protective Orders and safe housing and works with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office obtaining evidence for emergency situations where a victim’s safety is in immediate danger.

Chris has worked with the Sheriff’s Office and municipalities implementing new policies and has made recommendations to improve inter-agency communication and efficiency.

In nominating Chris for the Above and Beyond Service Award, it should be noted that he is passionate about educating the community on domestic violence and victim’s rights and he has spent many hours of his own time working with the Woodstock Police Department and speaking at Community Outreach programs. He also serves on the Domestic Violence Task Force. Chris has been instrumental in finding a safe haven for various victims.

The Outstanding Service Award (Above and Beyond) was developed to encourage employees working for Cherokee County to strive for excellence in customer service at every available opportunity. Other nominees receiving Certificates of Recognition were:
