The County Attorney provides legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners and county employees. The attorney's responsibilities include the drafting of ordinances and resolutions, providing defense in court where Cherokee County is a party to litigation, serving as prosecutor for county ordinance violations in Magistrate Court. The County Attorney is appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serves at their pleasure.
