Legend of Abbreviations

CR NJCriminal Non-Jury. This would include motions, pleas, bench trials and any other criminal matters conducted without a jury being present.
Arr.Arraignments. This is the first appearance for persons charge with a traffic or misdemeanor offense to come to court and plead either guilty or not guilty. If a not guilty plea is entered another court date is set up either for jury or non-jury trial.
Probation Court day set aside for probation revocation hearings and pre-sentence investigations which have been prepared and are ready for review.
Civil NJ Civil matters are presented to the Court for ruling. This would include any pre-trial motions, bench trials or other matters not requiring a jury.
Cal Call Whether it is a CR (criminal) or a CV (civil) calendar call this would be a date set prior to the jury trials where parties give an announcement to the Court as to their “readiness” for trial. This is the day the order of trials are set by the Judge.
