Chief State Court Judge: Clyde J. Gober Jr.
Judge Gober moved to Cherokee County in December 1975. He resided in the Buffington community in Cherokee County for 20 years, with at least one of his three sons attending Buffington Elementary School continuously during that time. He and his wife Amelia now reside in the Clayton Community. Judge Gober has been active in community affairs as past president of Kiwanis club, Boy Scouts, American Heart Association, March of Dimes and many others. He often talks to community groups about the courts and legal issues, but his favorite groups to speak to are the school classes, which he does as often as 10 times per year.

State Court Judge: W. Alan Jordan
Judge Jordan joined State Court in August of 2000. He and his wife Sharon have lived in the Union Hill area since 1993. Judge Jordan has been active in bringing the Anna Crawford’s Children Center to Cherokee County and is an advocate of providing services for children in Cherokee County.

MISSION STATEMENT
To provide an expedient, fair and impartial forum for all persons in both criminal and civil cases. To provide the most consistent and rigorous programs for people convicted of crimes in the court which will change their behavior for the better. To provide an unbiased fair forum for citizens in the most professional, cost efficient manner to Cherokee County.
WHAT WE DO
State Court processes all misdemeanor and traffic criminal cases filed with the Clerk. The Court also provides a forum for civil litigants in a wide variety of cases
