The County Attorney provides legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners and county employees.

Animal Shelter
Our mission is to encourage and respect the animal/human bond while anticipating and providing services that insure public health and safety through the proper promotion of animal welfare.

Building Department
The mission of the Building Department is to enforce mandatory state building codes, thereby ensuring safe and structurally sound construction on residential and commercial buildings within Cherokee County's jurisdiction.

Community Services
The agency of Community Services includes: public relations, public information, community outreach, community affairs, community and media relations for the Office of the County Manager and the Board of Commissioners.

Human Resources
The Mission of the Cherokee County Human Resources Department is to provide expertise and leadership in the activities and services of employment, benefits administration, classification and compensation, employee relations, training and worker's compensation.

Environmental Health

Finance Department
Provide accounting and purchasing services for Cherokee County, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, and cash management.

Information Technology Services
Provide support for telecommunication, program maintenance, systems development, production support and office systems services to County departments and agencies.

Mapping
The Cherokee County Mapping Department's primary responsibility is to service other county departments or county agencies with information and maps appropriate for their function.

Parks and Recreation
The Cherokee County Recreations and Park Agency (formerly CRPA) was absorbed by the county in 2007. The Agency provides many services and events county wide.

Planning and Zoning
Planning is a coordinated, continuous and comprehensive process promoting the vision of the community by providing an environment for orderly growth and development, creating opportunity for business and commercial activity and protection of natural, historical and cultural resources.

Public Safety
Public Safety in Cherokee County is handled by several different agencies. Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, Fire Department and the Marshals Office.

Recycling Center
The Recycling Center promotes responsible environmentalism in Cherokee County through waste management practices, pollution prevention and education that results in protection and improvement of land, water and air.

Cherokee County Senior Services is committed to serving as a community focal point for the delivery and coordination of comprehensive social, nutritional, assistive, and informational services to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families.

Tax Assessor
The Board of Tax Assessors (BTA) is an autonomous board whose members are appointed by the Board of Commission to staggered six year terms, have specific responsibilities, and employ the Chief Appraiser who is responsible for the operation and functioning of the county property appraisal staff as per the Official Code of Georgia (OCGA) 48-5-290,264, & 299.

Tax Commissioner
The responsibility of the Tax Commissioner's Office is to bill and collect ad valorem taxes due on Motor Vehicles, Real and Personal Property, Utility, Timber, and Mobile Homes. As an agent for the State Motor Vehicle Department issues tags and renewal decals for all Cherokee County resident's vehicles.

The mission of all Georgia Veterans Service offices is to assist veterans, their dependents and survivors in obtaining benefits to which they may be entitled from the US Department of Veterans Affairs as well as all other agencies.
