Mission Statement
Provide accounting and purchasing services for Cherokee County, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, and cash management.
The Finance Department consists of Accounting, Budgeting, Purchasing, Payroll and Fixed Assets. All payments, including employees and outside venders, and receipts are recorded to our general ledger, to be summarized in our annual financial reports. All purchasing done by all County offices and departments are processed through the Purchasing Department, which verifies that adopted County policy is used when making purchases. The budget process balances forcasted revenues to the needs of the various County departments and outside agencies.
