Eligibility

The following employees are considered to be eligible for nomination for the Quarterly Outstanding Service Award:

§         All full time and part-time employees, to include all supervisors (non-management), sworn and civilian personnel, and members of the Outstanding Service Council.

§         Eligible employees may not be on probationary for new hire, promotion, demotion, transfer or disciplinary action.

§         Employees receiving disciplinary action after receiving quarterly award, but before selection of annual award, will be disqualified for consideration of annual award.

§         Former winners of the Outstanding Service or Above and Beyond Award may be resubmitted for consideration provided the supporting documentation clearly reflects new and/or different events or incidents of exceptional customer service not previously included in an award submission package.

§         Recent retirees may be considered for nomination, however if the employee retired early in the year, they will not be eligible for the Annual Outstanding Service since that award is based not only on the exceptional service the employee has provided, but also the service the employee continues to provide.

§         Quarterly Award Winners who are no longer employed with Cherokee County Government at the time of the Annual Award selection will not be included for consideration in the Annual award.

        Number of Submissions

The Outstanding Service Awards Council asks that no more than two nominations from the same department be submitted.

        Confidentiality

All award nominations are expected to be kept confidential from the employee being nominated. The Outstanding ServiceAwards Committee makes every effort to maintain confidentiality of the award review process, then working directly with supervisors and Subcommittee Group Chairs to facilitate the surprise award notification for each award winner.
