 GREGORY DOUDS

Gregory Douds received his B.S. degree from the University of Maryland College of Business and Management in 1983. He worked as an accountant with the federal government and a large pension and welfare fund, and practiced in Maryland as a certified public accountant for an accounting and auditing firm. He studied law at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1995.

Mr. Douds is admitted to practice before all the state courts of Georgia and Maryland, the United States Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has trial experience with the tax and bankruptcy courts and all levels of state trial and appellate courts. He practiced trial law until his appointment to the bench in December, 2008.

Mr. Douds and his wife, Kim, have been happily married for 25 years. Their son, David, an Eagle Scout, studies Phiolosophy, German and International Affairs at the University of Georgia and was deeply involved as a junior leader in Boy Scouting. Mr. Douds enjoys bicycling and backpacking, he is a registered adult Scouter with Boy Scout Troop 464 in Woodstock, and he worships at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Mr. Douds moved to Georgia with his family in 2001, and thoroughly enjoys living in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains.
