Notice is hereby given that the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in order to consider amending Cherokee County’s Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance at the Board’s regular meeting on August 17^th, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Hall of the Cherokee County Administration Building, located at 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton, Georgia 30114.   The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to Cherokee County’s Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance, specifically to provide for the regulation of on-premises consumption of alcoholic beverages in cigar shops; to limit temporary permits for special events in parking lots to restaurants; to prohibit lewd dancing in on-premises consumption licensed cigar shops; to provide for distance requirements for on-premises consumption licensed cigar shops; to repeal conflicting provisions; to provide for an effective date; and for other purposes. The Board may act upon the Ordinance at the conclusion of the public hearing. A copy of the proposed amendment is on file with the Cherokee County Clerk. All Cherokee County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
