Cherokee County Commissioner
Bob Kovacs, a native of New Jersey, graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1992 with a Bachelor degree in construction management. He and his family have resided in Cherokee County since moving to Georgia in 2007. Bob is a Vice President with Skanska USA Building, where he oversees the preconstruction and project planning activities for the company’s Georgia and South Carolina operations.
Since arrive in Georgia, Bob has been actively involved in the community. He has served on the Holly Springs Downtown Development Authority and the Holly Springs Planning and Zoning Commission, is on the board of directors for Cherokee FOCUS, and he and his family have fostered over 30 dogs through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. He also serves on the board of directors for the Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia, and is active with the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association’s Woodstock chapter.
When not working or serving in the community, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife of 18 years, Jennifer, and their two daughters, Madison and Samantha. A resident of the Toonigh community, Bob is an avid mountain biker, wood and metal worker, and classic car enthusiast.
