Jeff began his career with Cherokee County in March of 2003 as Director of Planning and Zoning. Prior to coming to Cherokee County, he served as Senior Planner and later Director of Planning and Development for Forsyth County from 1993 to 2003. In 1999 Jeff received his certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. During his tenure with Cherokee County Jeff served as President of the Georgia Planning Association, a chapter of the American Planning Association.
Jeff graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC in 1988. After graduation Jeff went to work as a Production Manager with Milliken & Company in Spartanburg, SC and later Black and Decker in Easton, MD. Jeff returned home to attend graduate school at Georgia State University. where received his Master’s degree from the College of Public and Urban Affairs in 1993. During his graduate studies Jeff had opportunity to work in the Planning division at the Georgia Department of Transportation and for the City of Stone Mountain.
Jeff and his wife Lorelei reside in Forsyth County. They have four children, Hannah, James, Paul and Josephine.
