Area Plans
Introduction
- The Comprehensive Plan covers all of Cherokee County in broad brush-strokes. Specific areas need to be studied in more detail in order to address unique planning issues. These Area Plans build upon the direction set in the Comprehensive Plan and articulate a vision based on input from the community. The County, business leaders and community organizations can then use these Plans to guide their decisions to realize the full community vision.
-
Each Area Plan examines the current conditions of the area, develops a future vision of what the community wants the area to become and then formulates specific goals, objectives, and policies that will help implement that vision. These Plans serve as a guide for development, transportation improvements, open space and other public investments and identify opportunities for collaborative projects that address multiple community goals. Once complete, most Plans are incorporated into the Comprehesive Plan as minor ammendments adopted by the Cheorkee County Board of Commissioners.
