Cherokee Office of Economic Development

The Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED) is Cherokee’s leading organization for business and film recruitment, industry retention and expansion, and entrepreneurship support. As a result of these efforts, Cherokee enjoys a diversified tax base, keeping the burden off of local residents. COED also spearheads the Cherokee Workforce Collaborative and serves as a clearinghouse for employers to find talent and for residents to find jobs. COED is located in the historic Woodstock Elementary on the Chattahoochee Technical College Campus. The office manages The Circuit, Cherokee’s first coworking space, in partnership with Chattahoochee Tech and the Woodstock Office of Economic Development.

Cherokee County Development Service Center

The Development Service Center is the primary point for citizens of Cherokee County and its development community to obtain building permits, land development permits, planning and zoning services, environmental health services, Fire Marshal services and issuance of business licenses. The DSC offers friendly, professional assistance from representatives trained to listen and understand the needs of our citizens, determine an appropriate course of action, and deliver a response which is timely, complete and valuable.
