Building Permits And Inspections|Service Permits
Back to Building Permits And InspectionsService permits are available to those that are working a trade, i.e. plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc. at a location within unincorporated Cherokee County. All permits must be issued before work is started and will be issued only to state licensed technicians.
Emergency permits: work is allowed to be completed in the case of an emergency (i.e. broken water heater at night) a permit must be obtained as soon as possible and a final inspection must be performed.

Permit fees: $50.00 - you may pay your fee by credit card (a convenient fee of 3% will be assessed to each credit/debit transaction - a minimum of $2.00 for all transactions under $67.00), cash or check.
Inspections - An inspection (or several, depending on the scope of work) is required. Visit our CityView Portal and register to schedule inspections, upload documents related to your permit and see inspection's results in real time.
Plans - All electrical, plumbing and mechanical work for commercial buildings over 5,000 square feet and/or public assembly must be designed by a professional, with exceptions.
