The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 4.88% percent.  All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Cherokee County Administration Building and Conference Center, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton at the indicated times:  July 5, 2016 at 6:00PM, July 19, 2016 at 6:00 PM; and July 21, 2016 at  6:00 PM....

The Rotary Club of Canton has established a Human Trafficking-Sexual Exploitation of Children Committee to raise awareness of the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). Cherokee County operates under the commission-county manager form of government. This system combines the policy leadership of elected officials with the administrative abilities of a county manager

The commission meets twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 3 pm. for Work Sessions and 6 pm for regular meetings. The meetings are broadcast live via the internet by visiting this page.
