Citizen Participation Plan
The Citizen Participation Plan reflect's the County's compliance with HUD requirments for citizen participation in all appropriate HUD grant programs. The County will provide a forum for open communication with its resident, particularly LMI persons regarding its HUD-funded programs. The County strives to increase residents' participation in County housing, community development, and human services programs by providing relevant information so that persons/agencies in Cherokee County might benefit from these grant programs.

The Citizen Participation Plan undergoes updates as program requirements dictate. The County opened a comment period to invite public comment on proposed revisions to the Citizen Particpation Plan as a result of program waivers offered by HUD. The draft of proposed amendments is found in the link below. Comments will be received until May 29, 2020 at 5:00 pm. Preparation of Program Year 2021's Annual Action Plan
The County received notice that the annual formula allocaton for program year 2021 had been increased, and another 30-day comment period was opened on May 27th to receive written comments on the proposed action plan that includes the increase ($17,725). A public notice was placed in the Cherokee Tribune with instructions on how to comment and details were provided for the public hearing.
