Michael Haines is a seasoned professional in the field of web development and management, recognized for his pioneering role as the first webmaster of Cherokee County, a position he assumed in 2002. With a passion for technology and a knack for innovation, Haines embarked on his journey with Cherokee County by leveraging his expertise to establish and maintain the county's online presence.

Throughout his tenure, Haines spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the county's digital footprint and improving accessibility to vital resources and information for residents and stakeholders. From designing user-friendly interfaces to implementing cutting-edge technologies, he played a pivotal role in modernizing Cherokee County's web infrastructure and ensuring its alignment with evolving industry standards.

Haines's commitment to excellence and dedication to serving the community propelled him to new heights within the organization. His leadership and vision not only elevated the county's online platform but also fostered collaboration across departments, driving efficiency and innovation in delivering public services.

In 2012, Michael Haines achieved a significant milestone in his career trajectory when he was appointed as the Assistant Director of Cherokee County. This promotion underscored not only his technical prowess but also his leadership abilities and strategic vision. In his new role, Haines assumed greater responsibilities, playing a key role in shaping the county's overall digital strategy and infrastructure development.

Building upon his successes as Assistant Director, Haines continued to ascend within the organization, culminating in his appointment as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in 2022. As CIO, he assumed a pivotal leadership position, overseeing all aspects of information technology and digital innovation within Cherokee County. In this capacity, Haines led initiatives to leverage technology for enhancing service delivery, improving operational efficiency, and driving strategic growth initiatives.

Michael graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1993 with a degree in Politcial Science.

His two sons both attended Woodstock High School and are currently attending KSU.
