Motorized Cart Registration

Motorized Cart use will be allowed in parts of the unincorporated area of Cherokee County, Georgia, provided the roads have been designated as a "Motorized Cart District".

A "Motorized Cart District" will need to be brought before the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners for approval.

Motorized Cart registrations will be good for a period of one (1) year, three (3) years, or five (5) years. These permits will have an expiration of December 31st of the requested year.

The process to obtain this registration is to complete the Motorized Cart Registration application  and return the Development Service Center for processing.  Once the registration has been approved, a license will be issued as well as a decal to be placed on the motorized cart.

Please refer to Chapter 58 Section 7 - 18 of the Cherokee County Code of Ordinances for specific information regarding Motorized Carts as well as Motorized Cart Districts.
